As 15 members of the same family received severe burn wounds after their Suzuki Carry van caught fire on Tuesday morning in District Khyber of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred in Bara Bazaar, near Aka Khel Fauji Pump, on New Bypass Road, in the district of Khyber. Soon after receiving the report, medical teams immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the wounded women and children to Hayatabad Burn Center. Earlier, on January 16, 2026, tragedy struck in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as three children lost their lives in two separate fire incidents in Charsadda and Lower Kohistan. In Charsadda, a massive blast occurred at the residence of Ibrahim Khan due to a suspected gas leak, destroying one room of the house, according to Rescue 1122 officials. The explosion left Ibrahim injured and claimed the lives of his five-year-old son Rahimullah, and his six-year-old daughter, Spogmai. The injured father was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda for treatment. In Khanokheil area of Lower Kohistan, a massive fire engulfed a large house containing around a dozen rooms. Officials said the blaze was triggered by an electric short circuit and spread rapidly, engulfing the entire structure.
