He was chairing a meeting on winter energy planning in Islamabad today. The Prime Minister also instructed to launch an extensive public awareness campaign on the implementation of the gas load management strategy. He called for taking all necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted gas imports in view of the prevailing regional situation. The meeting was informed that domestic consumers will be given priority in the supply of locally produced gas, while RLNG will be prioritized for power generation and industries. It was said that a public awareness campaign would be launched to promote alternative energy sources at the household level in place of locally supplied gas. Measures are being taken to ensure uninterrupted transmission of gas from reserves located in the northern areas of the country.
