The international journal The Diplomat has praised Pakistan’s successful diplomacy in Washington.The report published in the international journal said that India is now suffering from 50 percent US tariffs and deprivation of presidential visits, and relations have entered a frozen state after India rejected the claim of US mediation in the Pakistan-India dispute. According to the journal, Pakistan turned this crisis into a diplomatic opportunity, and Pakistan fully appreciated President Trump’s mediation role. The Diplomat said that after the Pakistan-India war, President Trump invited the Pakistani Army Chief to the White House, and in September 2025, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the White House. The journal said that the conversation between Trump and the Field Marshal expanded from security to trade and investment, Pak-US anti-terrorism cooperation was restored and the old pillar of Pak-US relations got new life. According to The Diplomat, in July 2025, a trade agreement was reached between Pakistan and the United States to reduce tariffs. President Trump announced that the United States and Pakistan would jointly develop large oil reserves. In December 2025, Pakistan received US approval for the upgrade of F-16 aircraft. According to the journal, in January 2026, Pakistan also stressed the renewal of diplomatic relations with China. The US added the BLA and the Majeed Brigade to the list of terrorist organizations. In addition, the US imposed a 50% tariff on India for not having a trade agreement with India.
